Crazy Pavements
I walk barefoot on sidewalks in my dreams;
You hold my shoes by their heels and it seems
I must tread determined, at your pace
Because it suits control; so, should I trace
My thoughts with every footfall, as we make
Our way down narrow pathways? Should I ache
Just like an Ariel, far from the sea,
Aware that every footstep's agony?
Or should I be assured I'll bear the pain?
Is it because I just belong again?
And, when I shiver at your compliments,
Should I stop dreaming of crazy pavements?
You hold my shoes by their heels and it seems
I must tread determined, at your pace
Because it suits control; so, should I trace
My thoughts with every footfall, as we make
Our way down narrow pathways? Should I ache
Just like an Ariel, far from the sea,
Aware that every footstep's agony?
Or should I be assured I'll bear the pain?
Is it because I just belong again?
And, when I shiver at your compliments,
Should I stop dreaming of crazy pavements?
