there is a wind

i.
there is a wind that blows
upon my face;
knows none but i her charms
how to embrace,
a cooling font unto
my countenance.
pronto! she saves me from
mal-circumstance.

ii.
there is a wind of change
that shakes the world:
strange marvels that before
the eyes unfold;
stark differences twixt
man and savage beast
fixt by God’s Hand, demeaned
to remnant least.

iii.
there is a wind of rage
that dwarfs the hills;
page after page the tall
green trees it kills.
the thorn bird pales his breast
upon a limb,
rest seeking, where he dares
not make the climb.

iv.
there is a wind that fans
the flames of fate:
man’s debut into dark,
disconsolate
corners of earth, entrapped
by vicious turns,
unmapped, untamed, whence
liberty adjourns.

v.
there is a wind of hope
that paints the skies
scope for a ransom from
adversities.
swift to its close, the yen
of recklessness,
when sword and spear become
new tools to bless.
