Free From Thorns - with Her

Autumn days
with the scent of hours
free from the thorns
and maze

My contemplation
unhurried
As dewdrops
blanket the earth

Hearing the raven
rapping at my door
nevermore to return
with a shroud vermillion

Melancholy
My gaze upon
a patchwork
of falling leaves

Now a cool breeze
wooing the orchard
over my shoulder
free from the thorns
