WE ARE LIKE TREES
The people walking by
Are spilling all their problems
Nevermind the fact
That they have all they require
Roots that burrow deep
And lots of steady nourishment
Water from the heavens
Light and warmth from their own star
You and I don’t question
One another’s motives
We feel it in the way we hold
The way we talk, the way we sway
Simple lives irradiate
Born from simple pleasures
Roots encircling each other
This is what we do all day
Are spilling all their problems
Nevermind the fact
That they have all they require
Roots that burrow deep
And lots of steady nourishment
Water from the heavens
Light and warmth from their own star
You and I don’t question
One another’s motives
We feel it in the way we hold
The way we talk, the way we sway
Simple lives irradiate
Born from simple pleasures
Roots encircling each other
This is what we do all day
