Image for the poem Shushing The Fern

Shushing The Fern

My life slipping into death
with a twilight's whisper
last breath and pale dreams
over the silent sea
holding the flower
shushing the fern
guarding me with shadows
as I fall into stillness
so that I can relight
faith's frail candle
with memories of twilight
