Sun's Mirror

The Sun was beating down on me
As fierce as ever black as the night
Creating a void inside of my soul
I look down and see the shadow
Of the person that I once was
Trying to escape those black rays
Beating down so mercilessly
Onto the back of this xenophobe
As people smile and wave in my direction
I can see the distrust in their eyes
Knowing that I am other that I don't belong
With my mask painted firmly in place I wave
And let them meet know that I mean no harm
What is this life when you have seen death so many times
First hand like an old friend offering you the keys to your dreams
The loving and grace of the void and
The chance for the universe to correct it's mistake
By erasing me from existence
No other love will I ever know
This is a soul that only a mother could love
Wrapped in so many discrepancies
Because the one that loves me is a liar
And the one that hates me tells the truth
I know this now wholeheartedly my life is not worth saving
So I protect throwing this mortal coil into the dangers
Between the worthy and those that would do them harm
Better to lose one that welcomes Death’s warm embrace
And can show the wrongdoer exactly why they call him
Monster
