Santa Ana Winds

The western sky slowly turning colors
Of a sunset pallet and a few others
The Santa Anas are blowing into town
Those red winds that make fire rain down
Husbands don't turn your back on your wives
Time to put away all of your kitchen knives
The Santa Anas are now coming to make your skin crawl
Those red winds that turn every party into a drunken brawl
Those haunted hot winds out California way
Fires burning so bright turning night into day
Wind that make spark and flame whip and whirl
Santa Anas to make orange fires dance and twirl
Flames swirling about so there's no love or desire
In a night without stars the whole world seems on fire
Red winds bring fire to chasten and punish the land
Wanting tribute, appeasement or an offering in hand
Finally, the red winds die down at the end of a very long day
The Santa Anas smolder and mellow, then gently wander away
