If they had only listened

I'm looking through all that's madness
To see what on the other side
I've been told the grass is greener
What I see is suicide

Swirling smoke that arises
It trickles all through my mind
Goes behind my burning eyes
Trying to make me blind

Bring back the memories

Get us up off our knees

Bring back the memories

So I'm allowed to breath

Nations are on the march
No one knows what its for
All assume its destiny
I say its just another war

The stench of death fills the air
The air inhaled is hard to breath
The first signs are now appearing
All wonder is this the end of me

Blood runs like flowing rivers
It coagulates below my feet
Politicians have deserted
Stolen our assets for what they please

Bring back the memories

Get us up off our knees

Bring back the memories

So I'm allowed to breath

Nations are on the march
No one knows what its for
All assume its destiny
I say its just another war

I look now into the unseeing eyes
Of those before me who are dead
Nothing I could do for them
Its all been done and said

My arms are tired from the shovel
As I yet bury one more
So tired of loosing my friends
To please those who hide from it all

Give me just one memory

So I may get off my knees

Give just one more memory

To explain this insanity

Nations no longer marching
For there is no one left
If they had only listened
Instead of pretending to be deaf
