Love
Is so beautiful
To feel
But even
To see
Love
Watching it
From my point of view
All
Across this elegant room
I’m seated
By myself
At a table for two
Surrounded by couples
Sitting
At the same type of table
Too
But mine’s
Without the rose
Signifying the love
Between the two
But someday
Soon
I’ll have my love
Sitting at that table
Across from me
Too
But this night
I sip on a glass of coke
And observe the room
A mix of color
Blacks and whites
Brought together
For that one word
Love
It was all in the room
I saw it on faces
Men like myself
Enjoying being with
Maybe
The woman of their dreams
And the women
Smiling from ear to ear
Feeling like they were
Standing on the top
Because of the men
Sitting across the table
From them
And the music
Live and loud
Jazz
And some love songs
Mixed within
Created this….
Perfect picture
That love
Only created
Amongst couples
Truly in love
With each other
But most importantly
With themselves
Because….
Love
