Birthed as upbeat: but a funny thing happened...
At five AM
I stood and stared in awe
outside my bedroom window where
a bird
it sang
in the crisp morn air
as it sang its song
of joy and peace
to me of the way things used to be
it also told in days of old the
splendour of a sunrise gold
upon hearing it then and there
the song of our world
so young and rare
it made me hate
my space and time
enough to pen this little rhyme
and what it rang deep in my mind
was Sadness
Poverty
War and
Crime
the second verse i could not see
as the sun was red obscurity
so shutting the curtains
retiring to bed
these dark ugly images
fuckn my head
embracing the gloom
and crakin a dime
awaiting EOS OPHIUCHUS and
and the cross hairs of time
