First love never dies

Everybody always says that love is hard and that it brings hurt  
They are all scared of it like it’s cursed  
They say that love is blind  
But it isn’t    
Not for me  
   
For me love was easy when it was with you  
We breathed in the same rhythm, never out of sync  
Like two halves merging together    
same people in different skin  
same mind in different heads  
same spirit in our chests  
We were like two pieces of the same puzzle  
   
And our love wasn’t blind  
For we saw each other perfectly    
We saw each other for who we really were  
The very best parts of me shined in you  
The ugly parts were there too  
But we paid them no mind, they could stay  
They were no threat to us  
No trouble was ever in our paradise    
   
The way you picked me up and twirled me around never lost its spark or its flair  
You carried me around everywhere    
I looked so pretty with your hand around my waist  
Almost as good as with your hand around my neck  
Your fist around my throat was my favorite necklace    
I was sweetness you were danger  
I was the scorching sun you were the cooling air  
I was the golden streaks of sunlight shining on your hair  
You were the moon's blue hue and the silver droplets of morning rain  
   
Sometimes we were calm  
Like an eye of a storm  
Other times we were wild  
Wild like the deep blue sea and the gushing winds  
   
I loved the way you’d play with me like a child  
The way you brushed my long blond hair  
My golden locks next to your dark brunette    
My green eye eyeing your blue  
   
Whenever you stared I would catch you  
But you never looked away  
Shyness wasn’t one of your traits  
   
The way you’d proudly show me off    
Held my hand when we walked  
Gosh, you were so clingy    
Yet still, I allowed it  
   
We talked for hours on end  
I can still hear the sweet sound of your laugh  
You were the most fun I had  
If I could I’d do it all again  
   
But not with who you are now  
Instead I’d do it with who you were back then  
For you were much better before than you are now  
   
You often told lies but your eyes never did  
They betrayed you, told me everything    
All the little things that you did  
Little things no one noticed    
No one but me  
   
You were my mirror, my reflection, my other half  
They were always so jealous of us  
They would taunt us and tease us but we were stronger than them  
We knew they just longed for what we had  
The type of connection only time and change can break  
   
What you didn’t tell anyone you told me  
It’s what I liked about you the most  
   
And when we were alone you’d lay on top of me  
You’d say my name  
Touch my hips  
Kiss my lips  
Grab me by the waist and wouldn't waste any time  
Because I was yours and you were mine
