Storm
I sit alone looking out the window and darkness meets my gaze.
I sit here alone wishing for brighter sunnier days.
But wishing is essentially just a dream,
As even in the summer the sky’s dark or so it seems.
There seems to be a dark stormy cloud that follows me around,
Weighing upon my shoulders, pushing me down.
I don’t know how to get rid of this one man storm,
Is it just above me or is this the norm?
I’m at my wits end, don’t know what to do,
This dark rainy cloud has soaked me right through.
I long to see the sun and its golden yellow,
But I’m stuck in a storm with no umbrella.
How I yearn every second just to be dry,
But that dream never comes true for me, myself and I.
I want this storm to finish to end,
This monsoon is driving me round the bend.
In this storm all I feel is pain,
Can someone please, shelter me from the rain?
