Learning to love
I want to fall in love again
Deeper than I’ve ever been…
I want to fall in love with the one & only
who can never leave me lonely.
I want to fall deeply madly forever hopelessly in love
with Myself.
I want to learn to love the me who sinks into hard thoughts,
who aches with the pain of another, asking
“How can I help?”
I’ll love the patient me who is a giver
(up to that line of boundaries
that this me I love is working to design).
I want to love myself enough
to keep this me I’m trying to love
Safe.
I love the me who holds fond memories dear
of comfort, beauty, love & safety
so vividly as to revisit happy places in my mind.
I love the me of memories who made the me of now.
I love that I could ski and dine and be Alone & happy.
I’m going to find that ME I love—
to cherish, strengthen, build and simply be
Loved.
