Gaslight
My hands were shaking
And my face felt like it was on fire
Tongue twisted, as if I suddenly
Lost my knowledge of the human word
I felt ice creeping from my fingertips
Down to my toes
Shattering and cracking through my veins
Frozen from shock and betrayal
Countless memories ripped through my mind
All the times my gut was begging for my ears
Yet I would just cover them
And fall once again into the trap of trusting him
I thought love was stronger
I thought our love was stronger than this
All of the laughs we share
The secret smiles
My personal narrative went silent
As if even she couldn't process what we were seeing
Everything went numb
For he had lied
Again
And my face felt like it was on fire
Tongue twisted, as if I suddenly
Lost my knowledge of the human word
I felt ice creeping from my fingertips
Down to my toes
Shattering and cracking through my veins
Frozen from shock and betrayal
Countless memories ripped through my mind
All the times my gut was begging for my ears
Yet I would just cover them
And fall once again into the trap of trusting him
I thought love was stronger
I thought our love was stronger than this
All of the laughs we share
The secret smiles
My personal narrative went silent
As if even she couldn't process what we were seeing
Everything went numb
For he had lied
Again
