NUCLEAR WAR is the CONTEXT for the RAPTURE

Here's another way to say it:
RUSSIAN ATTACK will be the context FOR THE RAPTURE !!

We read of the Rapture at the end of 1st Thessalonians, chapter 4,
while "sudden destruction" occurs at the start of chapter 5.
 So the two events are beside each other !!
We can make a case that they are happening together.
 The Rapture is happening BECAUSE the "sudden destruction" is KILLING people !!
People are leaving their bodies and the world BECAUSE they are DYING at the time of the "SUDDEN DESTRUCTION."
So the Rapture should be known as the NUCLEAR Rapture.
For thats when it will take place - at the time of NUCLEAR WAR !!
Now that I've made these sweeping accusations,
 I have to follow thru with confirming Bible passages.
 (1)We read that the "sudden destruction" occurs on "the Day of the Lord" (1st Thessalonians 5.2-3).
And in the Old Testament "the Day of the Lord" ALWAYS referred to God
judging/punishing a nation by bringing WAR upon them. Example: "The day of the LORD for Egypt" was when Babylon's army invaded Egypt(Ezekiel 30.3,10).
 So "the day of the LORD" = wartime destruction.
So we go back to "the sudden destruction" and we denominate it as WARTIME destruction because of the term "Day of the Lord."  
So the Rapture happening on "the day of the Lord" will be happening at a time of war,war,war !!!
So the implication is that people are NOT going to heaven without dying - like nitwit preachers may have told you.
Rather, people will be departing this world because they ARE dying at the time of "sudden destruction"
 - on "the Day of the Lord" !!
Confirmation passage #2:
we read "the Rapture cannot come except ..the revealing of the Man of Sin, the Son of Destruction take place" first (2nd Thess.2.3) !!
 We can paraphrase it like this:
"the Rapture will coincide with the revealing of..the Son of Destruction."
But "the Son of Destruction" comes from an Aramaic idiom meaning "the Destroyer."
So we can paraphrase it like this:
"the Rapture occurs when the Destroyer gets revealed." Presumably by the military destruction that he launches. Since "the Man of Sin" or the Destroyer = "the king of the North"(Daniel 11.36-45),
he'll have his nation's military at his disposal.
This tells us just what kind of "destruction" will be coming.
LSS: 2nd Thess.2.3 confirms that the Rapture will occur in the context of war, war, war !!!

Confirmation passage #3:
2nd Thessalonians 2.5-7 foretells that "the Restrainer" will be "taken out of the way" of the "Man of Sin"/"Son of Destruction".
By whom?? By the Destroyer.
For THAT is who has the incentive to get rid of the Restrainer. Presumably, the bad guy doesn't like being "restrained !!
My point here is that the identity of "the Restrainer" is obvious enuff !!
It clearly has to be NATO !!
 For the NATO alliance of nations was set up in 1949 with one main purpose :
to restrain the evil Soviet Union, bad old Russia, plain and simple.
 Now once we know who the Restrainer is,
this gives us the identity of the culprit - Russia, of course.
So the nation that will wage war at the time of the Rapture has to be Russia.
And since Russia is a SUPERPOWER,
this tells us the kind of war to expect: NUCLEAR !!
Confirmation passage #4:
 Daniel 7.7-8 starts off with the rise of the Roman empire (verse).
Then one-man-rule by Caesar is replaced by 10 kings ruling concurrently.
In other words the Empire has fallen, replaced by nation states,
each with its own ruler(verse 8).
Finally, "another horn"/another nation will "come up among" the 10 nation states "with great force," ie violence,
 suggestive of military invasion/conquest(verse 8).
So a return to one-man-rule is implied.
(This fulfills the "was," then "is not" then is again 3 part sequence in Revelation 17.8,11.)
This adds up to Russia invading/conquering Western Europe in our day.
This supports the claim that NATO = the Restrainer.
For the 10 nations in Daniel 7.8 are fairly synonymous with the nations that make up the NATO alliance.

Confirmation passage #5: Revelation 13.7 basically = Daniel 7.8.
 The advantage to Rev.13.7 is that "making war" is made explicit,
whereas in Dan.7.8 it is only implicit.
Also, the Christian nations are explicitly targeted in Rev.13.7.
This puts it in line with the Rapture for only Christians and Jews go up in the Rapture.
The result of the war is world conquest, for the Beast "gains power over every..nation" (Rev.13.7).
So a SUPERPOWER nation is the guilty party.
 For in a contest between super and nonsuperpower nations,
the superpower would win. By definition.
So it has to be a superpower that conquers to world.
Since there are only 2 superpowers in the world,
 and America isn't the kind to conquer the world,
this leaves only RUSSIA as the nation that will conquer the world !!

An objection answered:
 people object to my saying the the Rapture will be a time of MASS DEATH
because Paul the Apostle says at the Rapture "we will not all sleep.."(1st Corinthians 15.51-52).
We will not die, in other words.
So there shouldn't be "mass death."
But "sleep" has two definitions:(1)the ACTION of dying;
(2)the STATE of being dead.
The state of being dead - thats where corpses lie in the ground in the sleeping position.
Now THAT's the part that nuclear war would fulfill.
We "will NOT all sleep" for we won't leave "sleeping" corpses lying on the ground !!
 For the heat of the nuclear FIREBALLS will turn our bodies to VAPOR "in an instant,
 the twinking of an eye."
Corpses will NOT "sleep" anywhere near ground zero !!
(But people will still die at the Rapture !!)
