Emily
Even in the midst
Of humility and shame
She refuses to allow life
To continue the same
Many mistakes have been made
This, she cannot deny
But her regret was evident
Each time she would cry
In her darkest hour
She has seen the light
Through the shadow of doubt
Which once robbed her of sight
Looking now through sober eyes
Seeing what’s fallen apart
She swears to redeem herself
For those she holds close to heart
Yearning to make amends
Her past, she will rise above
To prove she’s capable
Of compassion and love
Of humility and shame
She refuses to allow life
To continue the same
Many mistakes have been made
This, she cannot deny
But her regret was evident
Each time she would cry
In her darkest hour
She has seen the light
Through the shadow of doubt
Which once robbed her of sight
Looking now through sober eyes
Seeing what’s fallen apart
She swears to redeem herself
For those she holds close to heart
Yearning to make amends
Her past, she will rise above
To prove she’s capable
Of compassion and love
