Exception to the Rule
Every man
believes himself
an exception
to the rule,
that many things
he still might be
but never
just a tool.
His wisdom is
an insight of
how different
that he is,
when just affirming
this is true
negates
he's such a wiz.
He takes up time
and space
from her
to tell that he's not,
when just withholding
her the floor
decodes
the kettle pot.
Each excuse
excuses him
from being
what he says,
and this is why
his reasons sound
like candy
from a Pez.
