A Pearl (Remembered)
The twin shackles of distance and time
Cannot prevent or confine
But as sunlit highlights of your hair
Strays the eye a moment’s stare
So do these too,
Distance and time
To memories' whisper pause my mind
In imaginings…
The breeze is but your breath on my skin
And the sun but dim
To the light of your eyes
And all the world both curve and line
But fade to you
The love that’s mine

Author's Note
Stepped away for a while. Cleared my head. Made new house rules. Never blocked people before but now its totally an option. Trolls, narcissists, and the self absorbed will meet my inner southern redneck. Fair warning.

I like this. I sense a reaching of sorts, something alight in front of you. Maybe a lover, but maybe a sense of self as well. Contentment.

I, for one, am deeply grateful for your return. You are such a wonderful benefit to DUP; a pure source of joy and an enormously talented creative force. We'd all be worse off, with your departure. That's a guarantee. I can, a thousand percent, relate and understand for your need of space and a much needed pause; giving you the opportunity to reassess your place here. Unfortunately, I have dealt with the lowest of the low. Some truly vile manipulating narcissistic wannabes, trolls and catfishing crazy people who opt to open unlimited DU accounts here, just to cause mayhem and to try to enact a weirdo agenda (I have somewhat gathered.) In the end, like you... I WILL win out by being the best that I can be and by staying true to myself. I refuse to be bullied away. Those despicable elements that remain will eventually have their comeuppance. Where everyone will see all their true colors bleeding through.... in vivid display.
As you can see, your Author's note really hit a nerve, and I felt compelled to share.... I hope that's ok
Once again, you are a glimmering sense of goodness that's very much needed; I am all ear to ear smiles, that you're here and that I get the continued pleasure of losing myself in your writing. This piece, being a true lovely example!!
