Darkness
Darkness is what I am
Darkness is all I know
As soon as the sun surrenders the day
My darkness starts to grow
With strength borne from the light of the moon
I leave my lair and start to prowl
Whenever I hear my kindred hunters
I will always answer their howl
Each night is like watching a movie
Filled with beer and booze and porn
After midnight the prey comes out
And I will hunt until the morn
You leave the bar at closing time
Thinking that everything is fine
You decide to walk back to your home
And then the advantage is mine
You can’t see what you hear
And you don’t trust what you see
You rationalize your fear
And you will never know that it is me
You are right to be afraid
As the darkness will silence your screams
The night will bind your arms and legs
And I will haunt your dreams
The darkness has again done its job
And no one will know until the light
I follow the darkness back to my lair
And wait to feed another night
Darkness is all I know
As soon as the sun surrenders the day
My darkness starts to grow
With strength borne from the light of the moon
I leave my lair and start to prowl
Whenever I hear my kindred hunters
I will always answer their howl
Each night is like watching a movie
Filled with beer and booze and porn
After midnight the prey comes out
And I will hunt until the morn
You leave the bar at closing time
Thinking that everything is fine
You decide to walk back to your home
And then the advantage is mine
You can’t see what you hear
And you don’t trust what you see
You rationalize your fear
And you will never know that it is me
You are right to be afraid
As the darkness will silence your screams
The night will bind your arms and legs
And I will haunt your dreams
The darkness has again done its job
And no one will know until the light
I follow the darkness back to my lair
And wait to feed another night
