Cold Season

Relationships come in a wide variety
and this particular one brings out the worst in me.
My thoughts don't count
and my opinions don't matter.
As soon as I feel tall
you push me down the ladder.
I'm patient with so many but with you I find
that even on my best days I can't treat you kind.
It's a two way road, the respect I don't receive.
And I tried to wait for it but I was practically on my knees.
You striked me down and made me feel low
And when I'm on the ground you think its a perfect time for a blow.
A blow to my head though not literally
The blow hits my emotions and I just wish I could be free.
The facade I put up is so strong and so sturdy
That not even a damn person knows I'm hurting.
I wanted you to accept me, to brag and to love me.
but I feel you don't so I continue to pray to the one above me.
I know things happen and happen for a reason
I just hope I have the strength to pass this cold season.
