Know the Truth

I want to know the truth
Detect what was a lie
Open up my mind
And tear down the disguise
 
Find the answer above
Search for the holy grail
Of knowledge I've yet to know
This boat I'm set to sail
 
The shadows direct the darkness  
And the light shines from within  
All these thoughts combine
As I struggle to ascend  
 
To accept what is a fact
But all I see are guesses
Nothing ever known
To this my heart confesses
 
A writer with a story
But yet so much to learn
Nothing ever clear
A message to discern
 
I'm fighting for a path
A line that I can cross
To truly be a man
To find my inner cost
 
I struggle to believe
In myself and in my works
So I fight to make it seen
And when it's not, I feel the worst
 
I need to find my peace
A star in the distant sky
A love that I can hold
And not just simply cry
 
I got depression and some more
But we all got our issues
Its time to find my hopes
And learn from all my miscues
 
I've got the heart of a hero
But the soul of a broken man
So I need to merge the two
And start to make a stand
 
I want to solve the mystery
Of all that is unsolvable
And somehow make it happen
Make it somewhat plausible
 
This is all I got
And all that I can do
Make my story mine
And let my strengths shine through
