Fear the Freak, a poem
Ahead of me I saw
the freak
cross the street,
running.
I heard the wicked
laughter
beside me,
suddenly all of my feelings,
all of my emotions, fearing,
where running with
the unsavory beast.
The freak had bolted
behind me like a shadow,
electrically, I felt it.
I gave chase.
I couldn't stop running,
after the shadow,
after my breath
the freak had taken.
