Selfishness Resurrected

 
The fire of passion aflame
Blazing wild and ferocious
Resurrecting the beast of selfishness
Entombed in my personality
Crawling out of the casket of my mind
To devour objects of my craving:
Animate and inanimate
Of which I am enslaved to.
 
She rises to stand on wobbly feet
Like a baby learning to stand astride
Unsure of her balance and poise
After ages of passivity and negligence.
 
Mouth dripping with strange liquids
Climbing down her bony cheeks
Deprived of fleshy tantalizing nourishment
Seeking chubbiness to enhance her look.
 
She sticks out her elongated reddish tongue
Probing her surroundings for a prey
To lure to her snare
As a chameleon waits in disguise to ensnare an unlucky prey
To feast and satiate its hunger.
 
Starved of her needs in hibernation
Awakened from slumber by the fire of lustful passion
She sets to work without delay
Setting traps in various disguise
As the undiscerning blindly walk into her home:a place of no return
With eyes open but the torch of intuition unlit
To be consumed and buried therein.
