My Eyes Are Up Here
Imagine If men would say so clear,
"Hey! Hey! My eyes are up here!"
Try to imagine if women indulged
In the invasive act of grabbing your bulge.
If walking down the street we got cat calls
Every single day it wouldn't stop at all.
Most men would brag in sheer delight.
I doubt that most would put up a fight.
But imagine the thought oh so rude
If this behavior came from other dudes.
You'd probably want to sock them. It's true.
But what if they were bigger and stronger than you?
What if in protest you'd try to dismiss
And they yelled out loud, "Stop being a little bitch!"
Bullied and scared you'd walk away
But the sting of that moment will always stay.
Realizing there are more of them than there are of you.
What would you feel like you really could do?
What if this culture ruled society .
How would it be for you?
How would it be for me?
So the next time you have a notion to stare
Remember this poem
