plain sky
i wish i was ordinary,
like a coal miner's daughter
and black with ash and
work.
i can love, and row and
slop the pigs;
i don't see light but
through his eyes.
forever the sky pulls,
weaves and I make
clothes for you.
i tried to ferret away,
at nerves,
at regrets,
at love;
i know it goes on,
it remembers but
without awareness.
dawn again.
like a coal miner's daughter
and black with ash and
work.
i can love, and row and
slop the pigs;
i don't see light but
through his eyes.
forever the sky pulls,
weaves and I make
clothes for you.
i tried to ferret away,
at nerves,
at regrets,
at love;
i know it goes on,
it remembers but
without awareness.
dawn again.
