I Sat With Serenity
I sat with Serenity,
as the cool breeze blew,
Her many arms swaying in time with the wind.
We looked at each other and I silently told her my story.
I told her of frenzied suppers,
of overwhelming ecstasy, of staggering pain.
As each thought flowed out from my mind,
she touched it with one of her many arms,
and it evanesced.
I sat with Serenity,
my back to hers,
and neither of us dared to break the
silence.
She wrapped me in her comfort,
and I lost time.
Even now I sit with Serenity,
watching the leaves fall in the shade,
the whistling of the wind through the willow,
halting the passing of time.
Yes, here I will stay.
