Scars

The scar across my ribs is a part of who I am now. I’ll let it be!
The imperfection within that would have ended my life,
not easily found was easily corrected.

As we embrace, I no longer blush at the sight of scars, yours or mine, seen or unseen.
What joys are found in our imperfections as flawed flesh seeks flawed flesh?

Let our bodies join in celebration;
not of the everlasting, but in these temporal shared delights.
