You Lying Next to Me

As the sun's rays poked through the shades, an image was reflected off the black screen of a tv.

The image consisted of three beings: a proud You lying next to a dishonest Me, as they hopelessly admired a loving We.

You and Me always longed to be just like We, but their constant need to act out of pride and dishonesty hindered love's growth significantly.

After much reflection, a now humble You lied next to an honest Me as they transformed into a shamelessly loving We.

Author's Note
This is a poem inspired by my own experiences. I wanted to highlight how important it is to not let selfishness take over our relationships. Thanks for reading! 💗
