My Wish

I feel your heart inside of mine
The beat of them pulsating time
A shiver quickly down my spine
As I take your hand in mine.
I feel the heat, I feel the sweat
As nervousness begins to set.
Thoughts start racing through my head
Tormenting my mind with the things he said,
Scaring my heart back into its bed
Torturing it so it feels almost dead.
I pull my hand away from yours
Wishing that it could be more
But for now, I can not change
Until love can overcome my rage.
