So Stupid

It seems so fuckin stupid to me
Why someone that's lost without purpose
Would consistently give into the nothingness
Knowing there's no depth beneath the surface

I've seen the heart of an angel
Giving without cause or concern
I've seen it wither away to a whisper
I've watched a soul, spark and burn

Where has the terror gone
Where are all the tears
Gone by the wayside somehow
Lost among the wasted years

Where can we find any hope
No longer even a memory here
A shadow lurking in my mind
It's presence is now so clear
