I just want to know
How is this the land of the free...
...when the original people were slaughtered?
...when people were stolen from their land and forced to work in chains?
...when people were pushed away and blocked by a border?
...when we are too dark to be considered equals?
...when we had to raise our voices to use the same restrooms, go to the same schools, eat at the same counter?
...when one man was condemned for kneeling to voice his concerns?
...when another man was allowed to kneel and take a voice away?
Just a few questions that’ll never get answered.

Looks like someone didn't have the courage to reveal his/her identity. But I'll reply anyway. That link is only a part of the story. What happened leading up to that event? Why was there a war between Natives and Europeans?
The second part is true originally that wasn't the case. It started with Africans being taken and some had deals to prevent all entire tribes from being taken. It was for survival.
You mentioned terrorists. This land was already inhabited and the Europeans came, befriended the native people then slaughtered them and took their land. Sounds like terrorism. Which would take you to the point before that link you posted. Look at the entire story. Not the part you want people to see. Besides that now we have home grown terrorists. We can't judge people from other countries and ignore the fact of what's going on in our own.
Fear and misunderstanding does play a part but some of that is taught. Hate is taught. We aren't born into this world hating people for how they look.
So you expect athletes to ignore what's going on in the communities where they were raised and still have friends and family in those communities? Politics is involved in everything. Their platform helps bring attention to these issues that would otherwise get swept under the rug. Which brings me to the last part. The George Floyd incident didn't cross your mind because it didn't matter to you. I love our police departments but even within we have bad officers who abuse their authority and get away with it for the sake of the badge. If it wasn't for the video he would've gotten away with murder. A life is priceless and George lost his because of a piece of paper.
