Pull and Push
Solitude and loneliness greet each other by the door
They cross paths as the day ascends and drops
At times they sit on one chair; I can't tell which is which
They forget that I am here; talk amongst themselves
I am sad that I am not happy, but the silence comforts me
Purpose needs to be birthed, but being with myself gives me peace
I know I don't know who will win, but I know who I want to fill
The house of my spirit, which awaits its king;
I don't have to doubt, but be in the present
With my choices I will hold firm on my head
With my eyes wide open, to escape death.
