4. song for my daughters
‘tween orchid petals
and a sweet, fresh rose,
they strew love’s glow to
bless my deep repose.
compelling eyes of
virtue, peace, and mirth
dissect life clues sprung
from time’s vital earth.
my soul in them, cast
from deep ebon roots,
bones of my bone, dreams
borne of golden shoots.
