Image for the poem Identity

Identity

We were born in rainfall,
in thunder and strike.

Come fire, we said,
come flood.

We are ten thousand drops of water,
and the sound it sings
as it rises back to the clouds.

Just stand beside me,
and lift your eyes to the sky.
