Marriage of Cinnamon and Cardamom

Marriage of Cinnamon and Cardamom

“Please don’t lace my cardamom coffee with cinnamon
because the combination of spices
gives me a yen for the yin.”
“I will use my best judgment
in your herbal concoction
to bring about a good result for all concerned.”
“I love that you combined the spices
So that my palate cannot discern them separately.
But tell me are you taken?”
“Don’t be so obvious.
Ask me if I like that kind of coffee to.
Never ask a woman so abruptly
such a personal question.
After all if I am attracted to you
it is flirting but if I not it is sexual harassment.”
“Prescience is not mine to know such things.
Tell me of your feelings lest I affront you.”
“How dare you inquire into the state of my arousal.
No man should ever trespass
into such intimately feminine matters.”
“Then how will I ever know?”
“I will whisper it when I am ready.”
“How then do we engender unto each other?”
“Fie, never mention the word gender
until romance is in the air.”
“We are going in circles.
Please release my tongue to flirt.”
“A man needs not permission for such things.
If you are bold then fear not reprisal.”
“Then tell me what books keep you company.
When the nights are long.
I should like to know that of the woman
Whom I court.”
“My literature is yellow the color of joy
And also madness. You guess
Which it refers to with me.”
“Both. And a happy marriage
They will make of us.”
“The madness is the cinnamon
I put in your coffee.”
