This is an interesting topic to me as I’ve always grouped lying and deception as part of the same group. May I ask you how you view the two being different? H🌷
Well, technically you are right. They are part of the same group. I don't see them as different, but sometimes we lie innocently, it is not intended to cause any harm and others probably even know that we lied. Sometimes, we lie to protect others from inevitable pain, or we delay it. It is not guaranteed to not hurt them but we do still try for them, even if it means lying. But, deceiving is a vicious attempt in manipulating others for your personal gain or to avoid taking some blames for what you did. So, it is a deliberate attempt for something personal or something harmful against others.
I see and understand what you mean. Funny, while we are not acquainted I considered this to be what you intended and I’m very grateful for you to have taken your time to explain. Deceit is a horror and devastation beyond measure and those “little white” lies do have varied degrees of intent for good. Thank you very much for furthered and thoughtful conversation on this subject. You’re very kind. H🌷
With some people you don't even need to be acquainted. I am glad that you asked me this question. I believe that's the purpose of this short poem to make one ponder the difference between them. So, thank you too.
