Cardiac Arrest
I was sad one day as I usually am
Writing a piece about a boy who eats a whole ham
I heard a sound with a bass like a boom bam bam
Dr. Dre type beat without a song
I listened with the intent to sing along
The words never came because this was not a song
It was my heart beating in my chest like King Kong
Alone in the dark by the river where I usually rest
It feels like someone’s sitting on my chest
In a hurry, I try to reach home
I did
But again I am alone
I try to reach a friend
I had one
That’s a different story
Another sad one
To get rid of the pain
I wondered the lane
And again
I heard that beat
I am tough so the pain felt weak
I hugged my shirt like a piece of sheet
My heart feels like it’s dancing around
Again I heard the sound
My body hits the ground
I was in the bushes so I might not be found
A body blow that took my breath away
No longer to see another day
Writing a piece about a boy who eats a whole ham
I heard a sound with a bass like a boom bam bam
Dr. Dre type beat without a song
I listened with the intent to sing along
The words never came because this was not a song
It was my heart beating in my chest like King Kong
Alone in the dark by the river where I usually rest
It feels like someone’s sitting on my chest
In a hurry, I try to reach home
I did
But again I am alone
I try to reach a friend
