Naïve

Walk into this room with me, please
I’m not so blind that I can’t see
Naïve and struggling to breathe
But alive enough to still perceive

Take off all your clothes, please
I’m not so dead that I don’t know
Naïve and wishing I could grow
But instead I watch you draw your bow

Please step inside this fold, please
I’m not so weak that you can’t scold
Naïve and fighting to resist
But I have to step inside this tryst

Run away with me, please
I’m so not what the others see
Naïve and you know what I mean
But I have to realise this dream

I have to break free from this prison
