Lily Pad, Sweet Lily Pad

Warm summer wind blew across the marsh
Suns rays lay across the pond
Fish had come up for the morning meal
Day creatures had appeared to start

Hopping down after their morning meal
Croaking with laughter as they raced to the pond
“First one in wins” went the cry
Jumping over he cleared their heads and splash went the water

“No fair” they croaked as he chuckled at them
Finding the right lily pad to lay upon
As they all now had joined floating on the pond
Laying on his back as the suns warm rays caressed his tum
“This is the life, what more could anyone ask for?”
Paddling along their lily pads under the noon day sun
Paddling on their lily pads with the creatures of the pond
