Would not a man in love speak with higher art
His innermost heart
Than the common of the day imparts
And for less a man bares life's toils and strife
While knowing there is so much the more to life
Though my troubled heart has oft times whispered
Alone where no ones heard
Where is she to love me
The calm within my storm
With gentle smile to lift me
And arms to keep me warm
Where is she to heal me
Wounds which lay upon my soul
From work and trial steal me
And through her again be whole
You are the dream my childhood could not know
And my youth could not sustain
But now a waking dream in truth
My heart prays that you'll remain
His innermost heart
Than the common of the day imparts
And for less a man bares life's toils and strife
While knowing there is so much the more to life
Though my troubled heart has oft times whispered
Alone where no ones heard
Where is she to love me
The calm within my storm
With gentle smile to lift me
And arms to keep me warm
Where is she to heal me
Wounds which lay upon my soul
From work and trial steal me
And through her again be whole
You are the dream my childhood could not know
And my youth could not sustain
But now a waking dream in truth
My heart prays that you'll remain
