Gratitude
Who can I thank for blessing me with your endearment?
To whom may I sacrifice my soul for your touch?
A psychedelic gratitude in my prayers
Reveals the colors I am eager to attract.
~
My soul thrives, this lifetime is important.
My heart is so open, the world can fit inside.
Inside my eyes a meadow of possibilities
Inside your eyes a trophy that seems divine.
~
Sometimes the pain shadows my gratitude.
You are far away as if gods keep us imprisoned.
Prolonging ache, self-pity accusations
What have we done? I just need a good reason.
~
Whatever happens I am whole, I am complete.
The grasp of love scintillates in its womb.
Gazing in your eyes is my own exploration:
A wild desert rose perishing in bloom.
~
Spirited purposes sanctify the means
Turning to quietude whatever they destroy
My unperturbed hope becomes my truth:
Our mingled flesh nurturing a holy poise.
