Are you real?
I’m drowning
The ground is dry but still I’m sinking
I can’t scream help
God, what were you thinking?
You say that you’re here
I hear your name being praised aloud
Yet here I am gasping for air
I’m all alone when I look around
I’m supposed to believe in you
Leave every ounce of doubt behind
But how can I place my faith in you?
Your true face you always hide
You weren’t there when I needed you then
Why would you bother to be here now?
Maybe I’m not the only one who’s fucked up in the head
Perhaps you’re the one who’s destined to drown
What if everything is a lie?
Can you bare to watch this world burn?
Will you send your angels down to heal?
Or is it easier to close your eyes and turn?
I don’t blame you if you let it burn
I’d do the same if I were you
I’ll watch the ember rise to the sky
And send the ashes into the blue
But you claim there’s salvation
You preach of eternal life
Painting us a picture of heaven
To justify all of our strife
And now I’m screaming your name
Begging for a single sign
Something to make me believe in you
But all I see is an empty skyline
So now I am drowning
The ground is dry and yet I sink
For god is not here
Maybe tomorrow, I’d like to think
