Shine On Me

You are the cross that I bear
You are the colorful clothes I wear

You are my stumble and my fall
But you've always been there through it all

You don't always know exactly what I mean
Though you've always been the best part of my dream

It doesn't have to be because we're lovers
It doesn't have to be because there's no others

I give you my all and you've become a part of me
And I'll lay it all out for the world to see

When my life is laid bare on the stage
When my heart becomes the ink on the page

And you'll be there to read my lines
To polish my love until in shines

You are the cross that I bear
My curses and my prayer

As long as you're mine
My love will continue to shine

Author's Note
Trying to start writing daily whether it is good, bad, or indifferent. Poetry is all subjective anyway so . . .
I'll be hopefully putting a lot of poems on and constantly editing them as I go, Just know my poems will be like me, a work in progress. Honest feedback is always appreciated. Thank in advance. - Seed
