Voices in My Head
Dear Voices in My Head,
We have a problem.
It was fine when you would pipe up to speak of the unfairness of it all - you would encourage me to fight. BUT now you have turned on me!
The other day when I could not think of one redeeming thing I had done in my life... it scared me to my very core. How was it possible that I who am always helping those less fortunate could not think of ONE single thing!
Instead of helping me to think of those moments when I did a kind deed or even utter a kind word - all I heard was how worthless and inept I was.

Between the two choices given - honest critique edged out friendly feedback.
Conversations about depression and grief are tough.
Looking into an abyss and seeing only darkness is one of the hardest places to be. Trying to climb out and finding you don’t see a way out. No light at the end of the tunnel. Talking to myself to find just one redeeming moment, action, thought and I could not find one. I realized what the fuck is happening - where is my inner cheerleader... she was missing.
I was in a dark place and realizing the tone of my inner voice was dark and bleak helped me. My inner cheerleader is back but she has changed.
