Adulting...

Adulting

This isn’t what I imagined when I was turning 18,
I had no plan in place, but I thought I’d be free.
Free from my moms rules,
But adulthood had even MORE,
Being grown? Overrated...
That much is for sure.
Now I’ve gotta work and pay my own bills,
And the aches and pains?
Gotta travel with my pain pills.
...And another gray hair...
And another crack of the knee...
Another responsibility?
Another bill addressed to me?!
ANOTHER alarm in the morning?
Guess so, cause adulthood says “FUCK YO SLEEP!”
This hood, I can’t escape, stole me away with no choice,
Brought along these fucked up life situations,
Exposing us all to the some of the worst.
Now I’m old enough to see,
This twisted reality,
Thought I’d gain control and peace,
But you make it so hard for me.
So Adulthood?
You can BITE ME!
