Snow Drifts
“Snow Drifts”
December 17, 2020
The shape of the wind
Is in the trees
And in the gnarly planks
That hold our summer guests.
The shape of the wind
Is in the chimes
And the branch’s dance
To winds request.
The shape of the wind
Holds hat in place
And bends the body
To shield against its harrowing strength
The shape of the wind
A fearsome breed
Brings laws to bear
Geometry and physics take heed.
The shape of the wind
Drifts over vast seas
To find power
In a universe filled with darkness
The shape if the wind
Knows the gentle touch
And the peace that exists in every human heart
The shape of the wind
Will take me up
To behold the face of God.
