Vis-A-Vis Versus Verse

maybe because it's English,
or don't have religious belief
or transgender
a recent comment received

or maybe my poetry is rubbish
and perhaps i should write no more
but i did kind of hope for more response
is my writing really that poor?

i probably don't want the answers
the pain would be to much
and it's now gone three in the morning
and i'll start speaking double Dutch

but the truth to tell, i'm bored with life
and came hear for a lift
and thought i'd share my writings
not causing any rift

perhaps it's time to bid farewell
and return to my far of world
seek out new adventures
to see what will maybe unfurl

or sit alone in my ramshackle flat
and reflect on better days
where once there was happiness in my life
whereas now there is just malaise

so fair ye well you kindred folk
i may soon bid you all adieu
and rest on my laurels, and derriere
and find a peace, now long overdue
