Unknown Joey at The Troubadour

... ... ...

Seated by myself at the counter
The Troubadour Club ... Coca Cola, Coke, soda ...
West Hollywood looked like a postcard
John Legend and The Roots singing...
*So dark when I see sparks, if we don't snuff 'em out*

My mind clapped out  verses of a new song...
As music ejaculated unknown people
A voice said :*Hello, man...  How have you been doing?...
I'm Joey... What have you been up to?... *

And I answered: *Nothing much...
I've been trying to recognize you...
Since you started talking to me...
You took me for someone else...*

Then Joey said:...
*Sorry, I mistakenly thought...
I mistakenly believed you were someone else...
I took you for one of my neighbors ... *

That must have been...
Something akin  to this...
Something unexplainable...
Something alienated like me
Imaginable...  Conceivable

... ... ...
