Image for the poem dear Anna

dear Anna

dear Anna a pencil told me to write to you
do I did
well it was more of an ache
deep inside a knowing what it's like to hurt
to scream inside wanting to get out

out! out!! out!!!

I always say one day I'm going to hitchhike on out of here
or so I tell my voices
it's a running joke
because they say where you going to go we that we aren't there?

so i walk about releasing tension to the atmosphere
connecting with the aether and letting it go so I don't explode
it's all about the anxiety
the nail biting, pacing reality

can you feel me?

dear Anna I read your poem the other day
and my heart ached
the pencil and the eraser argued over this letter
but the pencil won

jagged thoughts compel me to say just be you here,
here in these halls
where I've ran emotionally naked lot's of times

dear Anna I just wanted  you to know...I'm here
