dreams
we are going to fall down a lot
and we are going to get hurt
and so many different things and wondering and just ponder
think and have thoughts blink on
like stars
an empty building and where am i and i need you
one of many one of many
one
lost in a crowd
lost at sea
lost in thought; reverie
daydreams and there’s something there, over the horizon can you see it?
is it land or an enemy ship?
is it the light at the end of the tunnel or just the train?
a train
and a light-haired girl in white
an indian headdress and two dead deer with pennies in their eyes
they sleep in black trash bags
and the rain will wash their thoughts away
and the rain starts and doesn’t end
and surely the sky will get rusty from all this rain?
and the puddles will become deeper and we will drown
but blood is thicker than water
and the blood on the train tracks and the blood from the deer and the girl’s blood
a broken pitcher and rotten fruit and an extinguished candle
and the rabbits will come forth to the girl
and the lily and the juniper and the white rose will shun her
as she struggles to figure out
what she has done wrong.
and we are going to get hurt
and so many different things and wondering and just ponder
think and have thoughts blink on
like stars
an empty building and where am i and i need you
one of many one of many
